About Vittoria,

She born in Rio De Janeiro and she moved to Bruxelles in 2002 and since than she has been dancing and touring the world for several choreographer like Jan Fabre (Prometheus-landscape2), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Puzzle), Damien Jalet (Les Medusee), Quan Bui Ngnoc (Untold), co-production Les Ballets c.de la B., Akram Khan (Abide with me, olympics game 2012 London), Romeo Castellucci (Uso umano di esseri umani), Arco Renz, Andy Deneys, Davis Freeman, Felix Rukert, Frey Faust. Now she is coming to İstanbul for new IDF co -production 2023 festival project,Bleach Performance.

CONCEPT🌊

Reflection on the continuous transformation of the shapes,and states of liquids.Water, a passive and feminine element par excellence, is above all identified as the primordial source of life and regeneration.Another important signification attributed to the element water is transformation and primordial initiation.We could define this strength as everything situated beyond human consciousness and will.It is greed, it is necessity, it is existence itself. It is becoming, chaos, life, instinct, impulse. This strength is manifested in the animality and irrationality present in every human being. This is the will of the body, of biological life, of the spirit of survival.

Every living being is subject to this primordial strength, manifested in emotions, habits, irrational and unshakeable convictions, inclinations, sexuality and passions. None can escape.  What can a human being do against this strength?

*****Reflection on the continuous transformation of the shapes
and states of liquids.Site Specific performance (contemporary museum or public spaces) for 12 performers, possibly all women. The icosahedron is the Platonic solid which represents water and is constituted of 12 summits. These 12 performers should be dancers all other genders, professional or good advance amateurs.
According to the space, immagine other 12 persons to join the group for some specific moments. these others 12 person can be totally amateurs and should be able to work with the all group only 2 times before the actual premiere.*****

CONCEPT

It is no coincidence that in Christianity, the ritual which opens the door to all other sacraments is precisely baptism. In the Old Testament, when the Hebrews cross the Red Sea, and during the Flood, a world is transformed by the waters.
Thus we are talking of this primordial strength and of this untamed will that governs all existence. One of the first rites of passages in magical and theurgical practices consists precisely of knowledge of this primordial strength.
We could define this strength as everything situated beyond human consciousness and will.

What can a human being do against this strength? Against such force, we are powerless. A human being is totally dependent on it and in this respect, has no freedom at all. However, a human being has energies that come from outside oneself and which constitute the prerequisites for each spiritual and transcendental achievement by responding through consciousness and will. Consciousness means being awake, present to oneself. Consciousness means feeling the “I am” resonate in cell of our body.
The will, for its part, coincides with the action of willing, this capacity of shaping surrounding reality in a conscious and intentional way.
And the awareness of the fact that “this is all and I am a part of it” corresponds to the knowledge of water. In many oriental traditions, the knowledge of water is the starting point of the awakening of consciousness. In Buddhism, such a state is realised through the Samsaric consciousness, in which Samsara is the doctrine inherent in the cycle of life, death and rebirth, from which it is only possible to free oneself following the defeat of Maya, illusion.
If we would drew a parallel between the notion of consciousness and will and the present condition of our planet, we could conclude that human beings, in full consciousness, have acted in a voluntary mode towards the deterioration of Planet Earth.
In our project, which has been deliberately conceived for unconventional spaces, the audience (like consciousness) will be an integral part of the unending flow of choreographic images and movements created by the performers. Not only because they will be able to move freely in the exhibition spaces (as expressions of will) but also because the spectators’ density and shifts in position will, by their own “heat and pressure”, transform the state of the dancers, who, as water, will experience an infinity of changes in their states and shapes.
ESTHETICS
In the continuous liquid flow which floods the surrounding space and constantly changes, drawing attention to the thousands of aesthetic variables that bloom in this garden of bodies, the dancers intersect with each other. They thus create a precise score in constant and inexorable movement, thanks to the proximity and the density of the multitude. The nature of the movement also undergoes changes in rhythm, always coinciding with the emergence of the audience members, who go from being spectators, to becoming actors themselves, thereby contributing to an enrichment of the performance installation. Moreover a note of colour will appear naturally in the space, reproducing an esthetical as well as physical language, going beyond consciousness and letting it express itself in its multiple aspects.
